Bolt

     This song was first a Z3TA+2 loop, which I made a slow chord progression for. Then I made a slow pad (which you hear at the beginning). The first loop and the chord progression didn't fit, so I ended up not using them. I then made a melody for the slow pad, and added a simple kick, clap alternation. I also added various sounds to "build" the song, and make it sound more full. Finally, I mixed it, which included panning, side chaining, and balancing. Hope you like it!

Die Sterne

     This song was intended to be a "sing songy song", with an actual vocal, and the song form:  Intro, Verse 1, Chorus, Verse 2, Chorus, Outro. It started as the main melody that is in the chorus, however I felt it was too powerful to be at the beginning, so I made a softer melody for the verses. I added soft pulses as a background sound, and side chained them to the drum sequence to balance the foreground. The slow melody in the verses and choruses is meant to be a vocal. Also, I added white noise with a volume envelope for transitions.

Total Control

     This was my first song where I used samples. I tried to make it a humorous song, using various samples to make it funny. I used two different acapella Eminem songs, "Lose Yourself" and "The Real Slim Shady", as well as some vocal samples which came with FL Studio. Finally, I made a simple melody and drum sequence to give it song form.

The Veldt - LordPapaya Remix

     I chose this song because of the intense melody and overall "feel" of the song. I put the audio file for the full song in the tracking window. Then I replicated some of the melodies, but changed how they sound, to be different. I matched the acapella vocal to the melody/grid, and then took out the original song. Finally I added my own sounds to make an intro, and to build the song. Finally I mixed it, which consisted of side chaining, panning, and balancing.

Halloween Song

     For this song, I took inspiration from Jaws. The same melody, slowly building up in tempo and volume. I created my own version of the melody, which is a bit more complicated than the original Jaws theme. I went through the Sound Effects folder, and picked out many different samples. I played with panning to make it seem like the sounds are moving around you. I added a long wind sound for texture as well.
