My visual music project had a mix of tonal and non tonal music, so was not entirely within the correct guidelines. The piece was composed entirely of synthesizers from z3ta, and one drum track. I used this to show the conversion of natural things into a human creation- which is what my artwork is based off of.
I aimed to represent a cave with flowing water through waterbells, and a low drone. Harsher, higher sounds represented sharp points of the rock, and the waste that had been thrown into the cave. Tracks pan and volume changes, nothing is still even though it is constant. There isn't a solid rhythm until halfway through the piece, and even then the rhythm is more like an occasional instable heartbeat than a constant repetitive rhythm. This continues to work with the concept of instability and human inflicted change in the world. In the second major part of the song, the low droning base is removed, like a look outside the cave. Bright music plays, with an underlying darkness that has stayed with the melody. There is light, but it too is changed- Made human. Slowly more of the caves' attributes come into the music again, faintly, then the drone starts again- with a different pattern. Bursts of light continue to enter, represented by the higher pitches.
The entire piece is generally dark.. But it was a lot of fun to put together.

For the program, a summary:
This piece was made to represent technology and industry becoming inegrated with music and with nature, to the point where there isn't a clear distinction between the two anymore.
