Robert Johnson, (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938), is considered by some to be the greatest blues musician of all time. He heavily influenced music for years to come, especially artists like Eric Clapton, who did several covers of his songs.

Robert Johnson, wrote fairly simple songs, with a lot of soul. Much of the time it is just him and a guitar, sometimes a slide guitar, and acoustic. His style relied heavily on repetition of a phrase, with variations, ending in a punchline, so to speak.

This is the standard 12 bar blues format, but he doesn't always do that.

His greatest works are probably the following songs.

Robert Leroy Johnson (May 8, 1911 – August 16, 1938) was an American blues singer and musician. His landmark recordings from 1936–37 display a combination of singing, guitar skills, and songwriting talent that have influenced later generations of musicians.  As a performer who played mostly on street corners, and at Saturday night dances, Johnson enjoyed little commercial success or public recognition in his lifetime. In 2003, David Fricke ranked Johnson fifth in Rolling Stone 's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.[4] Rolling Stone's 2011 list ranks him at number seventy-one.
