Most of Adele's songs are about sad love, or dealing with problems. In many of her songs, she does not use literal meaning, and uses metaphors, like in Chasing Pavements and Turning Tables.
One and Only, is on of Adele's love song. This song is about wanting someone to be completely theirs, and for them to be completely in love. She uses lines like"You'll never know if you never try To forget your past and simply be mine" and "I dare you to let me be your, your one and only" to show the meaning of this song. Like we talked about in class, she uses space for effect. She does not rush the song, and there are times when one can just hear the instruments. She also uses a very wide vocal range, and will also hold out certain notes. Her voice will get softer in some parts, and louder in others. All of these techniques, combined with her amazing voice, are what makes her songs unique, enjoyable to listen to, and easy to relate to.
