I am currently a senior. I first got into music at the age of 13, back in 7th grade, when my dad taught me the basics of playing the guitar. Now, my main interest I play guitar and sing for the most part. I love R&B music, primarily for it's vocal style and rhythm. The combination of melody and lyric can be very powerful when it is right, and I love songs that can deliver the meaning of the lyric through the melody. A lot of the old R&B and Doo-wop fit that description for me. 

My Influences 

- my dad used to play a lot of Beatles when i was young, songs like: Let It Be, Hey Jude, Across The Universe etc... are some of the first songs I learned to play on the guitar and sing along.

- R&B, old Ne-Yo songs such as So Sick or So You Can Cry have definitely influenced my singing. especially when i freestyle sing. Thats when a lot of the RnB elements come into play.

- alternative, Ed Sheeran. A Team, Give Me Love.. I love Ed's lyrics, pure poetry...

My Bad 

- This song was written after a break up and TJ's rap is an honest out let of all the emotions, or lack thereof, he was feeling at that time. We wrote the chorus together, he came up with most of the lyrics for it and I tried to make it as catchy as i could. The little verse I do after TJ's first verse was my way of telling the girl that it's not her fault that TJ broke up with her and that really it was his lost. As for the music itself, I came up with a very simple 3 chord progression, I wanted the song to be happy, and have a hopeful vibe so there actually isn't a minor chord in the progression it self. Also, coming up a catchy melody is much easier with a straightforward progression. I wanted to make the song something that people can sing along to, especially the my bad and the chorus part. Even though a few people have told me that the song is somewhat "mean" to the girl, that was not the reason why I wrote it, but I guess honesty came through when TJ wrote his lyrics.

Hush Little Baby

- I recorded this at home using my ATR USB microphone and acoustic guitar. I played the percussion using my acoustic guitar and also played a bass line with the same instrument. I mixed this by panning the tractks and adjusting the EQ of the acoustic quite a bit. I cut the mid on the rhythm acoustic and raised the bass on the track with the bass line. I really like the harmonies, even though its a very simple one. I used only three vocal tracks and one of them is actually in unison with the root note but I changed the filter on that track to give it a different sound.  For the or
