New Music Tech Student Form
Welcome back everyone, old friends and especially our newest young composers. Please read over your syllabus and our class rules before getting started. If you have any questions, you can email me. jditomaso@arlington.k12.ma.us
This page has answers to the basics, and some information for workstation setup as well.
Your Music ID
Keeping things organized and running smoothly starts with your ID. Use it in our Lab only and DO NOT SHARE PASSWORDS.
Our Equipment
Headphones, cables, jacks/connectors, keyboards, microphones, workstations, laptops, mixers, recording devices, cameras....all need to be taken care of as a shared responsibility. Our class rule: Leave it better than you find it. Simply wrapping up cords gently with proper care every day ensures our equipment will serve us well for a long time.
**IMPORTANT** You get a grade for EQUIPMENT CARE - Leaving your workstation better than you find it (wrapping cords properly - not leaving paper or plastic around...NO FOOD or SODA!! - Make it a habit to do this at the end of each class!!! ~Inform me immediately upon the start of class if there is any issue of this at your workstation.~
Our Digital Resources
We are going to rely heavily on video tutorials to transfer information that usually needs to be repeated. I will create some of these, your more advanced schoolmates will produce some, and we have a wide variety of other professionally produced digital resources that will be shared with you. As always, these materials are made available to you as a student of the Music Technology Program and are not to be copied, transferred or sold in any format without permission.
Google Drive
- Each student will create a folder in Google drive to share your Music Tech work with me, named "FIRSTNAME Last Initial MT class 2017" for example John D MT1F 2017
Your class is either MT1F, MT2G, 3G or 4G - ask if you are not sure. My email to share with: jditomaso@arlington.k12.ma.us
- You should also receive a link from me to this, our shared Wiki-page and our shared Google drive resource folder , "Music Tech Shared" which will contain resources and exercises for you to use at home or on any device with web access.
